Why we made it
Love is something we practice.
Children's books often present love as automatic and effortless, but it isn't. We wanted to show that love also means making repairs and trying again.
Love can be hard
Patience, repair, and saying sorry are part of loving someone.
Love in action
Sharing, listening, hugging, dancing and helping.
Every kind of family
Two moms, two dads, one parent, grandparents and more.
Praise for How We Love
What readers are saying
“Happy families are wildly different in this joyfully inclusive series of lavishly photographed portraits.”
“Bright photographs of families fill the pages of this engaging board book.”
“Once we’ve read it, we talk about all the people we love and how we show them that.”
