Why we made it
Play is how we learn.
Inclusive books often focus on explaining difference (like disabilities). We wanted children with many bodies and abilities to appear simply doing what children do: playing.
All kinds of play
Games, dancing, music, nature and pretend.
Every body plays
Kids with hearing aids and prosthetics are simply shown playing, learning, and having fun.
Keep playing and learning
Questions in the back keep the playing, talking, and learning going.
Praise for How We Play
What readers are saying
“The real-life photographs have opened new worlds for our children and have also reinforced what they see in their own lives.”
“One of my favorite books to have on hand in my pediatric therapy clinic. Kids LOVE real pictures!”
“Beautiful inclusive photography and easy to read.”
